The Devils Pulpit
The Devil's Pulpit is a striking natural feature located near Glasgow, Scotland. Nestled within the lush surroundings of the Finnich Glen, this picturesque site is characterised by its dramatic red sandstone cliffs and the winding river that flows through the glen, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere.
Photographers will find numerous opportunities to capture the unique rock formations, the vibrant greens of the foliage, and the tranquil waters of the river. The best light for photography can often be found in the early morning or late afternoon when the sun filters through the trees, casting beautiful shadows and enhancing the rich colours of the landscape. The location is particularly stunning during autumn when the leaves change colour.
Photography notes:
- Wear sturdy footwear as the terrain can be uneven and slippery.
- Bring a polarising filter to help manage reflections on the water and enhance the colours.
- Consider visiting after rainfall for dramatic water flow and misty conditions, which can add a mystical quality to your images.
